Puerto de Mogán, the Venice of Gran Canaria

Do you know the 'Venice of Gran Canaria'? Puerto de Mogán is one of the island's landmarks and a place that leaves visitors spellbound.

Anyone who has been to Puerto de Mogán knows that we are talking about much more than just a port. It is not for nothing that this tourist enclave has the (well-deserved) nickname of the ‘Venice of Gran Canaria’. There are many similarities between the original Venice and this charming town.

This small fishing district is located in Mogán, a municipality that boasts an enviable climate all year round. The truth is that it is difficult to decide what we like most about the ‘Venice of Gran Canaria’. Perhaps it is its beautiful houses with white façades and details in other colours, its labyrinthine canals, the bougainvillea flowers that adorn the narrow streets or its passageways.

Without a doubt, Puerto de Mogán has everything necessary to offer us a walk that will intoxicate our senses and make us feel like we are in the emblematic Italian city. A unique atmosphere, the cherry on top of which are the small boats that rest in the port and go out fishing every day.

If you have never been here before, the first thing you should know is that Puerto de Mogán is not the same as Mogán as a village. The latter, which encompasses the former and is located in a ravine, has a less touristic character and a deep agricultural tradition. It is well worth a visit too!

Mogán Beach

Next to Puerto de Mogán is another of the area’s emblems: Playa de Mogán. A beach of urban character and golden sand whose quality is distinguished by the Blue Flag. A swim there will round off your experience in this town.

Have you got the urge to let yourself be seduced by the ‘Venice of Gran Canaria’? Well, we have good news for you. At Entrées we offer you the opportunity to explore it on a wonderful tour in which you will also pass through other very representative areas of the south of the island. Such as the Dunes of Maspalomas, the beach of Amadores or the ethnographic centre of the lighthouse of Maspalomas.

You also have the opportunity to visit Puerto de Mogán on an 8-hour tour around Gran Canaria, discovering wonderful municipalities such as Santa Brígida, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, La Aldea de San Nicolás, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, San Mateo, Tejeda, Artenara, Valleseco and Teror. Apart from, of course, Mogán.

Enjoy this experience!
