Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo
The Castillo de San José, a fortress built between 1776 and 1779, houses this museum where we can enjoy contemporary art in a privileged location. César Manrique was an artist who left a deep mark on Lanzarote. The island is full of his creations wherever we go and, to learn more about his work and pay our own particular tribute to one of the great artistic figures of the archipelago, there is nothing better than visiting his foundation. We already know that Lanzarote is a land of wines, with exceptional volcanic areas for viticulture, such as La Geria. For this reason, when visiting the island it is always a great idea to learn more about its wine-growing history through the Museo del Vino. This place is located in the old cellar of the emblematic Bodega El Grifo, which dates back to 1775, making it the oldest winery in the Canary Islands.
