Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo
The Castillo de San José, a fortress built between 1776 and 1779, houses this museum where we can enjoy contemporary art in a privileged location. In fact, it is situated in the harbour bay of Arrecife, so we are just a stone’s throw from the sea. It also has its own restaurant where you can enjoy a drink at the end of your visit.
Fundación César Manrique
César Manrique fue un artista que dejó una profunda impronta en Lanzarote. La isla está llena de sus creaciones allá donde vamos y, para conocer más de cerca su obra y rendir nuestro particular homenaje a una de las grandes figuras artísticas del archipiélago, no hay nada mejor que visitar su fundación. La encontraremos en Tahíche, en el edificio que fue la vivienda personal de Manrique. Uno de los museos de Lanzarote a los que debemos ir obligatoriamente. ¡Te sorprenderá!
La Casa Amarilla
César Manrique was an artist who left a deep mark on Lanzarote. The island is full of his creations wherever we go and, to learn more about his work and pay our own particular tribute to one of the great artistic figures of the archipelago, there is nothing better than visiting his foundation. You will find it in Tahíche, in the building that was Manrique’s personal home. One of Lanzarote’s must-see museums, it will surprise you!
Museo del Vino El Grifo
We already know that Lanzarote is a land of wines, with exceptional volcanic areas for viticulture, such as La Geria. For this reason, when visiting the island it is always a great idea to learn more about its wine-growing history through the Museo del Vino. This place is located in the old cellar of the emblematic Bodega El Grifo, which dates back to 1775, making it the oldest winery in the Canary Islands.
Museo de la Piratería
One of Lanzarote’s most historic museums. It stands in a fortress called Castillo de Santa Bárbara, which was built on top of the Guanapay volcano in Teguise in the mid-15th century to defend the island from pirate attacks. Today, the building tells the story of piracy on the island.
Casa-Museo César Manrique
Another of Lanzarote’s museums that pay tribute to César Manrique. It is located in Haría, in the middle of a beautiful palm grove, and it is an old farmhouse that the artist began to renovate in 1986 and which he converted into his home shortly after. home shortly afterwards. Just like the Fundación César Manrique, coming to see this this space means getting to know Manrique’s most intimate sphere.
